Week 8
“What do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first, and said, ‘Son, go work today in my vineyard.’ He answered, ‘I will not,’ but afterward he changed his mind, and went. He came to the second and said the same thing. He answered, ‘I will go, sir,’ but he did not go. Which of the two obeyed his father?” They said to him, “The first.” —Matt. 21:28–31
This parable reminds us that intentions don’t equal obedience. God desires a heart that responds to his voice—even if that response starts with resistance. The real test is in what we do next. If there’s something God has already shown you but you haven’t acted on it, today may be the day to respond. As you listen and obey, God will continue to give you your next steps.
