“Do not stand up against an evil person. If someone strikes you on your right cheek, turn your other cheek to him.” —Matt. 5:39
“Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all.” —Mark 10:43–44
Obedience is more than action; it’s a heart attitude. For example, “turning the other cheek” is just as much about the attitude we carry when wronged as it is about the physical action of turning the other cheek. It’s about choosing forgiveness and grace even when it’s undeserved.
Jesus calls us to live with a servant’s heart—ready to serve God and others with humility and love in all circumstances.
