Jesus said to him, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great command. The second command is this, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The whole law and writings of the prophets depend on these two commands.Matt 22:37–40

Jesus answered him, If a man loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come and make our home with him.”John 14:23

Obedience to Jesus begins with love—love for God and love for people. Everything else flows from this foundation. When our actions are rooted in love, we fulfill not only the letter of the law but its very heart.
