My prayer is not for them alone, but for those also who believe in me through their teaching, that they may all be one; even as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be one in us; that the world may believe that you sent me. The glory which you have given me, I have given to them; that they may be one, even as we are one; I in them, and you in me, that they may be completely one so the world may know that you sent me, and loved them, even as you loved me.John 17:20–23

The word reconcile became the final element of tSOAR because it points to the restoration of relationship between God and humanity as he originally designed it to be. God’s purpose in saving us was not only to secure our place in heaven, but to bring us into eternal life with him in the here and now. The more we learn to live in his presence in every moment, the more he is able to work in us and through us. As today’s passage reminds us, reconciliation is not only about being united with the Lord, but also about being united with all who belong to Jesus Christ.
